Wednesday, May 21, 2025
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
About the Event
This research presentation will cover breast cancer biology as well as the development of experimental therapeutics and preventive agents for breast cancer prevention, interception, and treatment in animal models.
About the Speaker
Qiang Shen, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Oncology at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - New Orleans. His research interests include elucidating the mechanisms by which normal cells undergo malignant transformation and developing prevention strategies for blocking carcinogenesis and metastasis. His lab investigates transcription factors, metabolism enzymes, mitochondrial kinases, and apoptotic proteins in normal and cancer cells to develop targeted therapies for treating estrogen receptor-negative and triple-negative breast cancer.
