Activities Funding Request

The Activities Funding Board (AFB) is a student-led financial organization responsible for allocating a portion of student service fees to support activities and events organized by Registered Student Organizations (RSOs).

About AFB

The Activities Funding Board (AFB) at the University of Houston is an agency of the Student Fee Advisory Committee (SFAC). Under the provisions of SFAC, AFB is a student-led financial organization responsible for allocating a portion of student service fees to support activities and events organized by Registered Student Organizations (RSOs). AFB allocates funds only to Registered Student Organizations, not individuals.

Funding is for:

  • Programs on the UH main campus
  • Attending conferences off–campus as related to student organizations mission.

Student organizations must be registered with the Center for Student Involvement in order to apply for and receive reimbursement funding.

How does AFB Work?

AFB works primarily on a reimbursement basis, meaning funds are reimbursed only after the program or conference has taken place.

AFB allocates funds in two areas:

  • Programs
  • Conferences

The AFB allocation request form must be submitted and processed before the program/conference takes place.

AFB may directly pay for the services from the following on campus vendors on behalf of the RSO: Conference and Reservation Services, SC Games Room, The Fresh Fork, Creation Station, The University Copy Center, Printing and Postal Services, Cullen Performance Hall and University Information Technology.
