Cougar Card Office Now Open at UH Sugar Land

Houston, April 19, 2017 —Students who attend class at University of Houston at Sugar Land no longer have to trek to the main campus to find a Cougar Card office. Earlier this semester, UH Sugar Land opened its own Cougar Card office that can print original or replacement cards on-site for students enrolled in courses at that location.

Currently opened 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, the office is located in the Albert and Mamie George (AMG) Building, room 101.

While individuals can drop in and have their identification photo taken on the spot in the office, they can opt to instead submit a picture online if they prefer.

"Submitting a photo online can cut down on wait times in the office," said Danielle Steber, customer service representative at the UH Main Cougar Card office. "However, it's completely up to the customer what they prefer, we can take a photo in person no problem." Steber, along with Tramaine Johnson, manager for the UH Main Cougar Card office, worked closely with members of the Sugar Land team including Chamal Reyes, the manager at the Sugar Land campus card office and Chi Nguyen, director of Business Operations for Sugar Land.

"This is a significant step for the UH Sugar Land Campus, but it's just the start" said Reyes. "We're already looking to expand our services to support Meal Plan requests and Flex and Cougar Cash accounts."

In addition to all of the card services available to students at the new location, the UH Sugar Land office is also a place where individuals can obtain the sticker that is required for anyone planning to ride the free UH Sugar Land Shuttle service from the Sugar Land campus to the main campus.

"We were thrilled to help our partners with this endeavor," said Deborah Davis, director for campus services, which includes the Cougar Card, at the main campus. "It is critical that we continue to expand our services as the University of Houston continues to grow as a whole."
