UH hosts HERC mini-conference event

The South Central Gulf Texas Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) held its annual spring mini-conference at the O'Quinn Great Hall of the UH Athletic Alumni Center on May 5.

The event focused on OFCCP compliance, the impact of the Affordable Care Act on adjunct hires, and other matters of interest to higher education human resources and academic affairs personnel.

HERC is a non-profit consortium whose members collaborate to recruit and retain diverse faculty, staff and administrators. HERC also supports dual-career couples by facilitating academic job searches within a commutable area.

The event drew between 50 attendees from 16 area colleges and universities, all here to learn about higher education recruitment and employment matters.
