Frontier Fiesta will have impact on parking
Its that time of year again for
Frontier Fiesta, the student-run and student-led
festival held on campus to promote education, community and
scholarships. The annual event is a diverse showcase for the
talents of the University of Houston student body.
During the festival, a piece of the campus is turned into a
fully functional town called "Fiesta City." There will be live
concerts, variety shows by student organizations, carnival
booths, multicultural performances, a barbecue cookoff and a
baking competition.
Please be aware that this event will have an impact on parking.
This year, it will be held on the east side of campus in parking
lots 20C and 20A. As a result, some spaces will not be available
in the two weeks leading up to the event. Starting March 8, part
of Lot 20C will be closed until March 24. Then on March 15,
additional spaces in 20C will be unavailable. The biggest impact
will be felt March 19, when the remainder of the spaces in Lot
20C and a portion of the adjacent Lot 20A will be closed.
See the map below to get a better understanding of the lot
closures.
We encourage everyone to have a parking plan in advance. Parkers
should take advantage of the parking at the Energy Research Park
and use the Cougar Line free shuttle service to get to campus.
To obtain estimated shuttle arrival times, use Cougar Trax on
your smart phone at
