SPENCER MOORE LEAVES FOR MD ANDERSON

Spencer Moore, Executive Director for Facilities Planning and Construction, left the University of Houston last month to face a new and exciting opportunity as the Vice President of Facilities at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Moore made an impact at UH with the management of the current major capital projects facility plan which consisted of designing and constructing academic and research projects to support the universitys Tier One accomplishment. In addition to these and other university infrastructure projects, Moore is credited with developing the Facilities Information department whose focus was to manage and track the universitys space assets, plus implement the Quality Control and Assurance process and program in the Department of Facilities Planning & Construction.

Jonathan Thurston has stepped in as Interim Director of Facilities Planning and Construction and is reporting to Associate Vice President for Administration, Emily Messa. Thurston worked alongside Moore for several years and is committed to the high standards and expectations set during Moores tenure.

Please join us in congratulating Spencer as he moves on to the next chapter of his career. He has left a deep impression on the department he led and the university he served.
