Find out what Dining, Housing have in store during upcoming town halls

The University of Houston community can come hear what the next academic year will bring for food service and student housing during two upcoming town halls.

The gatherings are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 20, from 6 to 7 p.m., and Friday, Feb. 21, from noon to 1 p.m. Both will take place in the private dining area in the Fresh Food Company in Moody Towers.

This past year has been a busy one for Student Housing & Residential Life, which opened the Cougar Place and Cougar Village II residential facilities, took over management of the Bayou Oaks apartment community, and began utilizing RoomSync to help residents find compatible roommates. Housing also revamped the First Year Residential Experience and developed the Second Year Residential Experience for sophomores. MAP-Works was also introduced and is a tool utilized with first- and second-year residential students to help them be successful.

UH Dining Services has been just as busy. This past month saw the opening of the new food court area in the renovated University Center, including a new McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, Panda Express and Starbucks. This upcoming year, when the second phase of the project is complete, Freshii, a sustainable organic restaurant, will open.

Attendees at the town halls will have an opportunity to ask questions. Light refreshments will be served.
