Cougar Trax makes it easy to see when next shuttle bus will arrive

Waiting for a shuttle bus along one of the three routes that services the University of Houston campus? Use your smart phone to find out when the next bus will arrive.

The new tracking service, named Cougar Trax, allows students, faculty and staff to quickly find out the arrival time of the next bus using GPS tracking.

To access Cougar Trax on your smart phone, go to http://uhmobile.etaspot.net. The instructions are simple:

1) Select your route
2) Select your stop

A map will appear that will show your stop, as well as the position of any of the temporary shuttle buses that are in service and on their way. Below the map, you will see the anticipated arrival time for the next bus.

For a larger, more detailed map and information, users can access the non-mobile site on their laptops or computers at http://uhmobile.etaspot.net. To use this site, the directions are just as easy:

1) Select your route
2) Click a bus icon to find out what stop it is going to next and when it will arrive
3) Click a shuttle stop icon to find out when the next bus will arrive and how long it will be before it arrives

The new tracking system is being unveiled at the same time as the shuttle service is being led by a new provider: Richmond, Va.-based Groome Transportation. The service also has revamped its routes. They include the Campus Loop, Eastwood/ERP Line and Outer Loop.
