New Subway opens in Cougar Express Market in Calhoun Lofts
Healthy options, convenience and additional budget-friendly
choices have come to the Calhoun Lofts with the addition of
Subway inside the Cougar Xpress Market. The restaurant opened to
customers Jan. 17.
The opening is a result of a constant commitment from UH Dining
Services to provide healthy dining options to the growing
University of Houston campus. The new Subway will be open Monday
through Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Subway�s menu will continue to provide low calorie food at
affordable prices. Caroline Sullivan, registered dietitian and
UH Dining Services nutritionist, said: �UH Dining continues to
increase healthy dining options for the community and Subway is
a great restaurant to add to the list.�
Students are excited to get a taste of the new Subway.
�The location is great because the Lofts do not have many
options for a quick meal. I am excited about Subway because it
offers students healthy options,� said senior Kimberly Cooper, a
Calhoun Lofts resident.
The opening of Subway was followed by a special grand opening
event on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The event took place from 10 a.m.
until noon and included samples and special prizes.
