Poison Alert



The Department of Public Safety (DPS) has been made aware of an imported mothball product that children may confuse as candy rather than a harmful chemical. The product in question is called �Fuji Lavender Moth Tablets� (for more information see attached link). The mothballs are sold in brightly colored packages, and their light pink color may be enticing to children. The active chemical ingredient in mothballs, para-dichlorobenzene, poses significant respiratory and ingestion hazards to humans. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has directed U.S. Custom and Border Protection to seize and destroy this product. DPS advises all staff not to purchase this product.
