BARRERA KEEPS ENGINEERING RUNNING SMOOTHLY

Dorothy Barrera is an engineer of sorts.

As business administrator, Barrera keeps the Cullen College of Engineering running smoothly. She interprets university policy, participates in the preparation and monitoring of the college’s annual budget and manages human resources. Her hard work has earned her a Staff Excellence Award, which includes a $1,000 check.

“Dorothy Barrera is an outstanding employee. She has been a phenomenal mentor, supervisor and colleague to me and others here at the university,” one colleague wrote. “She is willing to pitch in, provide assistance and serve as a valuable knowledge base not just to the College of Engineering and her areas of responsibility, but to other areas of the institution as well.”
