The first day of winter officially is Sunday, Dec. 21. Winter weather can sneak up in a hurry, so it is always important to be ready. While the Houston area doesn't normally experience the winter weather conditions that cities in the northern region of the country do, there have been hard freezes and icy roads. Here are a few driving safety tips to keep safe during the winter months:
The Federal Emergency Management Agency's Ready Campaign offers many resources and tip to prepare for all types of emergencies, including winter weather preparedness.
