UH Office of Emergency Management Assists with CERT Rodeo

UH Dining Introduces Late Night Food Truck Option for Students

Houston, Feb. 23, 2015 — The University of Houston Office of Emergency Management participated in the 2015 Harris County Citizen Corps Community Emergency Response Team Rodeo.

Interim Emergency Management Director Kelly Boysen and Emergency Management Specialist Ginger Walker assisted in the exhibit hall helping vendors and local groups display their products and or services to the CERT members and volunteers during the Feb. 7 event.

The CERT members participated in many challenging drills throughout the day and then later came into the exhibit hall to learn more about what the State of Texas, Harris County and the City of Houston have to offer.

The UH Office of Emergency Management has its own CERT on campus. The teams are trained by the Office of Emergency Management. To learn more about the UH CERT visit its website. The Office of Emergency Management hopes to participate in the annual CERT Rodeo next year with its own team. The next CERT training is expected in 2016. Visit the Office of Emergency Management for updates.
