MGH Program Information
The Master of Science in Global Hospitality Business (MS GHB) is a unique and truly global program that will allow you to experience three world-class campuses in three different continents, giving you a competitive and international edge to lead and excel in the demanding arena of hospitality management. The program also provides students
There are three professional certificates offered as a part of the program - one per semester per school:
- EHL - Managing Hotel Demand by Snapshot
- Hong Kong PolyU - Doing Deals and Valuing Hotels by
HVS - UH - Industry Analytics Training by STR Global
The traditional master's program is designed for students who have limited professional and managerial experience related to hospitality management. The global hospitality business program was developed to enable graduates to meet the intellectual and practical challenges of managing dynamic careers in the international hospitality sector.
The program is 16 months long and begins each September.
A cohort is a group of students who progress through the program together taking the same courses at the same time. As a member of a cohort, you will have opportunities to build professional relationships with your fellow classmates.

UH Admissions/Application
The deadline to submit all academic credentials and documents is April 1 for all students. We recommend you submit your application items well in advance of the published deadlines. Applications are evaluated once completed. Currently, there is only a Fall intake, no Spring or Summer.
To be considered for admission, in addition to submitting application items, an applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Apply online at www.applyweb.com/uhouston
- Resume. A minimum of one year of work and/or internship experience in the hospitality industry is required.
- Statement of intent.
- Official college transcripts. The recommended undergraduate cumulative GPA is 3.0 or higher for the last 60 hours of coursework.
- Two letters of recommendation. One recommendation from an employer and the other must be from a professor.
International applicants may be required to submit official TOEFL or IELTS scores and must comply with the English proficiency requirements set by the University of Houston and outlined on this link: http://www.uh.edu/graduate-school/prospective-students/international/english-proficiency/. Applicants must achieve a 100 on the TOEFL or 7 on the IELTS for this program.
One recommendation from an employer and the other must be from a professor.
Standardized test scores (GRE and GMAT) are not required. The TOEFL or IELTS may be required to comply with English proficiency requirements.

The earlier you submit your application and all supporting documents, the earlier you will receive an admission decision. Decisions are usually announced in May.
Since January 2014, Texas state law (SB 62) mandates that all entering students under the age of 22 provide either a certificate signed by a health care provider or an official immunization record verifying that a student has been vaccinated against bacterial meningitis, or has received a booster during the five years prior to registration. Students may also submit proof of approved conscience exemption from the Texas Department of State Health Services. Proof of vaccination is not required to be considered for admission. The program is delivered on three different campuses on three different continents, all face to face classroom format.
The business field trips immerse students in the practical issues of local hospitality markets across three continents of study. Students undertake a series of visits ranging from meetings with industry experts and executives in international organizations to cultural and culinary experiences on site. Students are required to complete assignments from the visits and be able to identify key distinctive resources and capabilities of the local markets and key success factors that lead to a certain competitive approach. Each school develops the agenda for the site visits and announces to the cohort during each semester.

Expenses and Financial Aid
The University of Houston System Board of Regents sets and approves program costs each year. Please contact the program director for the current cost at HiltonGlobalMS@uh.edu.
Federal loans may be available to students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. To begin the aid process, students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The UH school code is 003652.
You may be eligible to use your veteran's benefits. For more information about veteran's benefits for study at the University of Houston, please contact the UH Veteran's Affairs Office located in the University Welcome Center.
Students may apply for Hilton College's scholarships. UH has several other options available:

Information for Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne
- A letter of acceptance will be emailed to you by the end of May.
- Key supplements (Type-D application form, passport, photo, financial proof, etc.)

TIPS: Once applications are filed, the processing time is 12-14 week, so confirm your appointment as soon as you receive the letter of acceptance. Don't make any international travel plans because Swiss Consul will usually hold your passport.
- A Global Plug Adaptor is a must have.
- Business attire is recommended as you are required to be in professional attire Monday through Friday during classes.
- One or two winter coat/shoes will be enough because you will mainly be indoors.
- If you live on-campus, the basic furniture, bedding, towels, and housekeeping are provided. Hair dryer, coffee machine and kettle are not provided in the dormitories. Bring if necessary, but be aware of difference in voltage and frequency (Switzerland 220V, 50HZ).

EHL is located in Lausanne, Switzerland. There are two international airports serving Switzerland - Geneva Airport (GVA) and Zurich Airport (ZRH). Geneva Airport is the closest to Lausanne. Either take the SBB train http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html or Uber. Upon arrival in Lausanne, take the metro, bus or Uber to EHL campus.
TIPS: No need to book train in advance as there are many trains with plenty of seats. Train ticket is available to purchase at any SBB Kiosks, online or in person at the airport. And the SBB mobile app is of great help to check any public transportations schedule and purchase the ticket. Also, with an international driver's license, it is possible to rent a car; however, parking options are limited around Lausanne.
Information for Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Hong Kong Polytechnic University will assist students with visa applications. Documents for visa application will be collected during orientation at EHL, so prepare visa-related documents and bring them to Switzerland (passport sized photo, copy of Identity Card, financial proof, etc.). Please check Hong Kong consulate website for a list of documents needed.

- 2-3 business suits
The Hong Kong International Airport offers a variety of options to travel into the city: Airport Express, Public Buses, Taxis and Uber. To get to Poly U, taxi and Uber is the easiest if you have a lot of luggage. Otherwise, an economical option is the Airport Express. followed by a bus connection.
