4374 Final Grades
4313 Final Grades
´
The syllabus and lecture/chapter outlines will be available at the course
web site. Paper versions of the lecture/chapter outlines will not be distributed
in class, but can be obtained by printing them from the web site.
´
Grades will be based on the average of three exams. A total of four exams
will be given. The final exam will be comprehensive. Equal weight will be
given to each of the four exams.
´
Exams may be made up of multiple choice, problem-solving, fill in the blank
and short-answer questions. Questions will be based on the information provided
in the lectures, the lecture outlines and the text. Students are advised
not to miss lectures!
´
No extra time will be given to students arriving late for exams. No exam
will be administered to students arriving 15 mins or more after the beginning
of the class period.
´
A valid UH student ID card MUST be shown when handing in the exams.
Important
note: The instructor reserves the right to not grade an exam if:
the studentÍs name does
not appear on the official class roster, or
the student fails to present
a valid UH student ID.
´
Exams will typically be graded within 1 week of the exam date. The grades
will be curved depending on the range and average score. The curved average
will be 72 or higher depending on class performance. Exams will be returned
to the student.
´
Exam scores will be posted on the course web site by the last 4 digits of
the student's social security number, unless otherwise desired by the student.
You must notify the instructor before the first exam if you do not want
your grade posted in this manner. Grades will not be given over the
phone nor via e-mail. Students may call VIP at 713-743-8484 for final course
grades.
´
Exams will be given at the scheduled times listed on the course outline ONLY.
Absence from more than one exam will result in an exam grade of zero.
Example 1:
A student misses an exam.
Result:
The final exam for this student will count as the third exam.
Example 2:
A student takes all four exams.
Result:
The highest three exams will be averaged to determine the final grade.
Example 3:
A student misses two exams.
Result:
The final will count for one exam and the other exam grade will be a zero.
Example 4:
A student is satisfied with his/her grade after the first three exams.
Result:
The student can skip the final and receive the grade based on the first three
exams.
´
the grading scale will be: A = 92-100, A- = 88-92, B+ = 86-88, B=82-86, B-
= 78-82, C+ = 76-78, C=72-76, C- = 68-72, D+ = 64-68, D=58-64, D- = 55-58,
