Site of the Week

The Virtual Geosciences Professor's

GeoScience Site of the Fortnight

About This Site

During the brief history of the Internet, there have been a few notable attempts to provide a structure to the myriad of geoscience resources on the Internet.

One that I have followed since 1994 is the Earth Science Site of the Week which began as Scott's Earth Science Site ofthe Week and evolved into GSC Atlantic's Earth Science Site of the Week. Their Archives are still available and they remain a great first stop for the novice user with an interest in the geosciences and the Internet.

The Virtual Geosciences Professor began in 1995 as an attempt to provide a structure and an access to Internet-based course resources for instructors of geoscience courses and their students. The number and quality of resources is growing and recognition of some of the best seems warrented. However, the Virtual Professor is not without bias so your nominations are encouraged and welcomed.

The developer of each featured resource is encouraged to download and display the Virtual Professor's Seal of Approval and provide a link back to this page.

Please send an e-mail message to jbutler@uh.edu with your nomination....include the URL and a brief statement explaining why you feel the site deserves recognition.
