Ancient Stoicism Syllabus

(Tentative, subject to revision)

Note: See See Bibliography for more details on the recommended readings. Some books have been put on reserve in the library, some articles will be xeroxed for the seminar folder, and some books have been ordered as recommended texts. Be sure to check back for updates, because the syllabus and bibliography are evolving in the fall of 2000.

The general plan is that there will be reading in the Long and Sedley text (L&S) for each seminar meeting, plus recommended readings from secondary sources. There will also be seminar presentations, scheduled in advance. Copies of the recommended secondary readings will be made available in the Philosophy Department.
