Nanowire electrodes for renewable energy development

This project is under investigation and involves ZnO nanowires fabrication using the hydrothermal growth method. The fabricated nanowires will be tested for use as electrode materials for batteries and supercapacitors. Further investigation will include materials other than ZnO that have different electric characteristics, which possibly enhance efficiency of applications. This project is also supported by Provost’s Undergraduate Research Scholarship (PURS) program for the spring 2011 semester. http://phys.uh.edu/news-events/stories/2010/1207_provostScholarship.php
