- see just possibly STAC 8/191/9514 William Darell states that on 23 September 1577 a gang called the Brownes assaulted one Thomas Brynde in front of his house in the petitioner's lordship of Wanborough, so that he died of his wounds, and that they had previously threatened him with death. The Brownes were indicted of murder by the petitioner, but he has been sued on this by Sir Henry Knevell, and the matter brought before the council; and several suits involving the petitioner are now awaiting trial. He protests his innocence and begs the Queen's grace. mention of Hugh Stucley of London and also STAC Stuckeley
