  • Case Book BL Harley MS 2143 fo. 51v. Subpoena to hear judgement not being served personally the plaintiff was directed to publish the serving of it on the house or in the parish church. Buller, plaintiff; Curry, defendant: perjury and the subpoena to hear judgment fixed upon the defendant’s door who made default at the hearing, whereupon the court respited the hearing of the cause until the next term and directed the plaintiff to take out another subpoena and to serve the same personally or else to fix the same on the defendant’s door and afterward to publish the same in the parish church where the defendant dwelleth two several Sundays.
