Attorney Rex, plaintiff; the Lord Vaux, Sir Thomas Tresham, knight, Sir William Catesby, et al, defendants: convicted for entertaining of seminaries and Jesuits and contemptuously refusing to answer the privy council upon their such receiving of them, for which the said Lord Vaux was fined at £1000 the other 1000 marks but Griffin at £500 and to continue prisoners until the Queen’s further pleasure and that they conform themselves.
