Cecil to Smith 3 Sep 1563.

Sir: I dow much if ye be at Paris and the kyng still in Normandy, yow ar separat from all oportunite of service specially from helpyng Sr Nicholas Throkmorton. I see yow shall wynne great good will, to recover hym, and I thynk they have so small collor or pretence that much labor must obteyne hym. I marvell with what impudency the Queen mother can answer hir owne letter to yow, than yow sygnefyed that some wer coming. Good Mr Smith employe all your creditt and assaye the proestants there to doo somewhat lyke to there promisees. I mervell what answer the prynce and the Admyrall can make for the monny lent them.
