Job Description (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

Provides career advising, career counseling, and job placement services to undergraduate and/or graduate students and alumni of a college. Coordinates career counseling activities and programs. Serves all students but directly supports students majoring in STEM disciplines.

  • Advises and counsels students regarding career selection, job searches and internships.
  • Assists students with search techniques, resume preparation, interviewing strategies, networking and recruiting schedules.

  • Implements, manages and evaluates systems and resources used to provide counseling services.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree preferred.

Job Description (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):

Overview | University Career Services serves 13 academic colleges and 26 departments within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services. We are a team of eight career counselors, nine peer career advisors and two graduate interns. University Career Services hosts 8-10 career events including preparation weeks, career fairs and large-scale programs. For the 2018-19 academic year, the Peer Career Advisor program will support University Career Services front desk, outreach, career development, and employer development efforts.

Areas of Focus | Front Desk Support (all advisors): Provide excellent customer service and assistance to students, employers and faculty/staff. Support daily operations in the areas of data entry, navigating website, maintaining office information, maintain office supplies, and other general office duties

Additional Responsibilities | All students are expected to represent career services within the campus community. Students are expected to be committed to working a full academic year (fall and spring) with opportunities to work in the summer and winter sessions. All other duties as assigned.
