Jamie Gonzales

Liaison to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS)

Jamie Gonzales serves as a liaison to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and as a Pre-Law Advisor. She strives to build students' confidence by providing supportive coaching as students decide their major, search for internship/job opportunities, and prepare for interviews.

Prior to her time at UCS, she managed student leadership development programs, facilitated educational trainings, and provided support services at the LGBTQ Resource Center (2016-2020) and Center for Diversity and Inclusion (2014-2016).  Jamie also serves as the UH Staff Advisor to Gamma Rho Lambda Sorority's Kappa Chapter and a judge for the Scarlet Seals of Excellence. As a first-generation college graduate, Jamie proudly earned her Master's degree (M.Ed) in Higher Education from University of Houston and her Bachelor of Arts in Government with a minor in American Sign Language from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jamie values serving her local community in various capacities such as being a curriculum co-chair for New Leaders Council-Houston, a volunteer coordinator for Gender Infinity, and a co-chair for the Texas Exes Pride Network. During her time at UH, she has received the Student Life's Diversity Diamond Award, the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Professional's Promising New Professional Award, Graduate College of Social Work's Humanitarian Award, DSAES Diversity and Inclusion Award, and the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life's Staff Advisor of the Year Award.
