Supply Chain & Logistics Technology - University of Houston Launching Supply Chain Innovation Lab.

Many thanks to Dr. Matthew Hu for leading this initiative. The Great State of Texas continues to lead the way towards a digital future. This is evidenced by the amalgamation of high-tech companies "CHOOSING TEXAS." We are training tomorrow’s workforce for critical twenty-first century jobs, as intelligent infrastructure and SMART cities become the new normal for economic prosperity, national security, and a sustainable planet. Building collaborative bridges for faculty, students, and industry. This is the Supply Chain & Logistics Technology Program.

Maritime Sector Importance Global Connectivity

The importance of the maritime sector in terms of global connectivity cannot be underestimated. Approximately 90% of global trade moves by water transport. As global society transitions to Industry 4.0, the role of automation, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital twin, augmented reality, machine learning, real-time data, big data, and IoT will drive an ever-increasing interconnectivity between production, consumption, and transport nodes. Here at Supply Chain & Logistics Technology - University of Houston we understand the critical nature of developing a regional workforce that meets the needs of our rapidly evolving world. Meeting that challenge head on is Captain Anuj Chopra FNI. Please join us on the journey to Twenty-first century jobs and prosperity!

University of Houston Supply Chain Program and Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

Esri technology helps people solve some of the world’s most difficult problems. Preparing our Supply Chain & Logistics Technology - University of Houston students for a globalized and digital future, my colleague Dr. Al Henson has integrated Geographical Information Systems (GIS) online introductory training into his fall 2021 courses. Students are using ArcGIS Online to analyze big data for decision-making related to real-time situational awareness; forecasting longitudinally and futuristically; understanding trends and patterns; setting priorities; route optimization; and distribution center locations. Bridging the physical and digital divide, that is the Supply Chain & Logistics Technology team.

Capital Projects and Supply Chain
