By 2020, the College of Technology will be one of the cornerstones of the University of Houston, and as such will have created and several public and private partnerships to propel the institution to be among the premier undergraduate and graduate technology colleges nationwide.
As enrollment grows, it is imperative that the College maintain and enhance our student and faculty support to rise in national and international rankings. We invite you to join us in elevating the College by supporting the following campaign priorities.
Founded in 1941
The College of Technology is the second-largest college on the UH campus with more than 6,508 students and 22 degree programs. Offering courses at the University of Houston and also proudly serving Sugar Land and the surrounding area.
In the 2017-18 academic year, scholarships awarded grew by nearly 50%, severely disproportionate to the total enrollment (6508) of our fastgrowing College. To ensure student success in evolving industries, our priority is to raise funds for new scholarships in each of our four departments.
The College of Technology currently does not have any faculty members who benefit from an endowed chair or professorship. These positions provide prestige and research funding for esteemed faculty members, and are key to attracting top talent and ascending in national rankings. Our goal is to establish at least four endowed professorships: one in each department.
Excellence in Teaching, Research and Facilities
We must continue to grow high-quality academic programs that contribute to the economic development of Houston, Texas, and the nation. That includes new laboratories and spaces that facilitate active learning, both in Houston and at the Sugar Land campus.
