Updated October 12, 2020
For MSW students enrolled in any of the 16 semester credit hour foundation curriculum courses (see list below) during the 2020-21 academic year, the Foundation Curriculum Policy will be adjusted to allow Field Practicum I (2 SCH) to be completed by the Friday prior to the start of the Fall 2021 semester.

Foundation courses include:

• Foundation of Social Work Profession (2 SCH)
• Social Work Policy in the Social Work Environment (3 SCH)
• Human Diversity/Human Development (3 SCH)
• Research and Knowledge Building for SW Practice (3 SCH)
• Social Work Practice Skills (3 SCH)
• Field Practicum I (2 SCH)
  • Mode of Instruction
The University has adjusted the mode of course instruction for our MSW Face-to-Face and Hybrid courses for the Fall semester to synchronous online. This means class times will remain the same but instead of meeting in person on campus, students will meet on Zoom or MS Teams. Courses for the MSW online program will remain as they were previously scheduled.
  • University Policy Updates for Fall

Grading: While the university adopted an emergency grading policy for graduate courses last Spring, this is no longer in effect for graduate students. Traditional grading policies are back in place, in accordance with the established policies in the UH Graduate Catalog.

Attendance: UH has created a Graduate Excused Absence Policy specifically for the fall semester. Click here to learn more.
