Thursday, March 26, 2020
11:30 am - 1:00 pm
This has been shifted to an online only event.
Please keep an eye on hpedsi.uh.edu for future notices about other HPE Data Science Institute events, as updates will be forthcoming.
About the Event:
This talk will provide an overview of new tools applying A.I. and machine learning methods for automating interpretation of geophysical data, including examples from seismic, well-logs and core.
Ben Lasscock, technical lead of the Energy Solutions Group at Enthought, holds a Ph.D. and a B.Sc. in theoretical physics as well as a B.Sc. in physics and theoretical physics from the University of Adelaide. Before coming to geoscience, Lasscock has published in the areas of high energy physics, Bayesian time series analysis and geophysics. Currently, he is working on developing ideas for physics-based A.I.
