Provost's Visiting Scholars Program

The University of Houston Office of the Provost is pleased to invite proposals for the Provost's Visiting Scholars Program. The program is designed to support faculty recruitment efforts by building or expanding connections between the University of Houston and extraordinary scholars from other institutions.

The Provost's Visiting Scholars Program is interested in supporting visits by faculty who are potential candidates for current or future faculty hires, and contribute to increasing Tier One excellence, student success, and equity and diversity at UH.

Colleges that wish to invite an individual to campus under the Provost's Visiting Scholars Program should submit a proposal with the following:
  • Profile of the proposed visitor including a short CV (1-2 pages)
  • Description of how the proposed visit will contribute to faculty recruitment efforts
  • Summary of how the proposed visit will support creating and sustaining a more diverse and inclusive community at UH
  • Budget for the visit
  • Endorsement by the department chair and college dean
Proposals are accepted year round and should be submitted to the Provost at
