Coming soon! April Movie Night! We’ll be watching the movie Radioactive and taking a closer look at the life of Marie Curie with the help of faculty from the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
NSM’s Moores Professor of Physics, Lawrence Pinsky, will explore the science portrayed in the movie. He’ll cover the basics of Curie’s research and the science behind her discoveries.
CLASS Professor of English and Director of Women’s Gender & Sexuality Studies and the UH Institute for Research on Women, Gender & Sexuality, Elizabeth Gregory, will look at the gender dynamics within the scientific community and the impacts of Curie’s discoveries on women’s participation in science and the world.

Tune in via Zoom for an introduction and Q&A from UH professors Lawrence Pinsky and Elizabeth Gregory. They’ll take a look at not only the science found in the movie Radioactive, but they’ll explore the woman behind the science, Marie Curie.
7–9 pm:
Watch the movie on your own. Radioactive is free to watch with an Amazon Prime subscription.
9:10–10 pm:
Check back in with our UH professors on Zoom for a Q&A session about the movie!
