  • Faculty and Departmental Instructional Support (FDIS)

    Provides professional support services to the faculty community with guidance in the use of technology needed in the online environment as well as in the traditional classroom.

  • Innovative Teaching

    FDIS provides faculty with funding and resources to develop innovative teaching. Examples include the Teaching Innovation Program (TIP) grant; Active Learning Classroom (ALC); Flipped Classroom.

  • Learning Opportunities

    FDIS provides consultations, workshops, and knowledge base services for Blackboard, Turningpoint, Turnitin, Blackboard Collaborate, Respondus.

  • UH Writing Center

    Writing Center staff can assist in designing discipline-specific writing assignments that effectively communicate expectations, developing rubrics that ensure workable feedback and reduce the grading workload, and training TAs on an individual and departmental basis.
  • UH Libraries

    UH Libraries offers teaching support, borrowing and collections assistance, and research services.
  • FacultyEnlight

    The UH Bookstore offers FacultyEnlight which makes it easier for faculty to research, discuss, discover, and adopt learning materials.
  • University Information Technology

    UIT offers classroom equipment, telephone service, and video conferencing assistance.
  • Dean of Students

    The DoS aims to help students chart a path toward success, overcoming barriers as they arise and ensuring that the proper support services are being utilized as needed. Faculty and staff can refer students to the Dean of Students office or advocacy@uh.edu.
  • Faculty Awards

    The Office of the Provost is proud to sponsor a number of awards for faculty, with the vision of promoting and recognizing excellence at UH.
  • Center for Students with DisABILITIES (CSD)

    Provides individual and departmental consultation and assistance to faculty and staff regarding student ADA accommodations and disability-related issues. Some services and resources include a dedicated testing center, adaptive equipment, and computer labs.
  • Veteran Services

    Veteran Services can assist faculty by providing resources and support to veteran students in order to foster success in their academic, personal, and career goals.
  • Center for ADVANCING UH Faculty Success

    The goal of the ADVANCE Center is to increase the number and success of women faculty in the science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and behavioral sciences fields. The five-year NSF ADVANCE IT award supports sustainable activities and programs that are part of a systemic effort to transform the institution.

    CDI fosters an inclusive university community by providing services, programs, and support that engages, empowers, and educates our highly diverse student population and campus partners.
  • LGBTQ Resource Center

    The LGBTQ Resource Center is committed to cultivating safe spaces on campus and empowering LGBTQ students. The center also offers Cougar Ally trainings to assist faculty and staff looking to increase their awareness of issues that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people face.
  • Women and Gender Resource Center

    The Women and Gender Resource Center promotes gender equity, gender justice, and student success at UH through advocacy, education, empowerment, and support services.
  • Cougar Initiative to Engage (CITE)

    Cougar Initiative to Engage (CITE) is a five-year Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to improve student learning through community and co-curricular engagement.
