Triumphant Return

60-plus Sponsors, Players Turn Out to Raise Student Scholarships, Travel Awards During Golf Tournament's Successful Return

June ?? - A year after COVID-19 pandemic cancellation of the UHCOP Golf Classic, the tournament devoted to providing scholarship and travel fund support for UH College of Pharmacy Pharm.D. students made a triumphant return with one of its largest turnouts of alumni, friend and student players in recent years. 

More than ??? participated in this year's tournament June 3 at Tour 18 Houston in Humble, with ??? playing and non-playing sponsorships and supplemental gifts among the event .

Inspired by her family’s history of heart disease and hypertension, Xu studies the molecular drivers of cardiac dysfunction. With support from a predoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association, Xu is investigating how disrupted signaling inside heart muscle cells contributes to heart failure.
