July 16 Message to students about online courseloads decision

Dear Student,

We have received many inquires after I sent out the email to you yesterday.

I would like to clarify that we have not received a new guidance from SEVP requiring F-1 students to take face-to-face course(s) for Fall 2020 as UH will be considered a hybrid model university for the Fall 2020 semester.

Again, we recommend that you keep the face-to-face course if you were or are able to select one, to be conservative and prepared. If you cannot find any face-to-face classes at the time of your open enrollment, please register for the classes that you need for your degree. We will continue to monitor any new guidance from SEVP and work with UH campus partners to support you and keep you in compliance if face-to-face enrollment is required.

Again, stay healthy and safe,

Jin Zhang
