There are several Committee types used to advise leaders about the value of their services and programs in accordance with the University's shared governance values. Advisory Committees provide a regular opportunity for us as service departments to connect and engage with our customers for opinions and advice before a decision is made, especially when the service impacts a wide-range of customers and stakeholders. When a service impacts fewer and more specific stakeholders, a steering committee, composed of key customers to help leadership prioritize projects may be more useful. Unit heads will determine the appropriate committee type.
