About 160 Bear Branch Elementary School fifth-graders from the Magnolia Independent School District visited the UH campus on Wednesday, May 17, for an informative tour and scientific demonstrations in biology & biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, and physics.
Professors Simon Bott, Costa Colbert, Donna Stokes, and George Zouridakis participated in the event, introducing students to their individual field of expertise and inviting them to participate in experiments exploring superconductivity, chemical reactions, brain-wave recordings, and brain signaling.
The half-day field trip was arranged through Michael and Elsa Tansey, good friends and generous supporters of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
