ANNUAL TRIBUTE TO SCHOLARS, LEADERS, AND PARTNERS IN EXCELLENCE A GREAT SUCCESS

The annual College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Tribute to Scholars, Leaders, and Partners in Excellence was held April 29, 2006. The event was a great success, recognizing the Summa Cum Laude graduates for summer and fall 2005 and spring 2006, in addition to the graduating NSM Ambassadors, 2005 faculty award winners, and NSM partners in excellence.


University of Houston alum, Stephen D. O'Connor, PhD, CEO of Nanostream, gave the Keynote address. Earning his BS in Chemistry at UH and his PhD in Physical Chemistry at the California Institute of Technology, Dr. O'Connor has extensive experience in leading successful technology firms and in commercializing complex life science products that merge chemistry, analytical instrumentation, and disposable devices.

He founded Nanostream in 1999, inventing its core microfluidic technology to address previously unmet market needs in drug development. He has also co-founded four technology companies in Southern California.
