Science Journals Recognize Potential of Young Professor
Assistant Professor of Chemistry Olafs Daugulis was recently selected by the editorial boards of Synlett and Synthesis as a 2006 Journal Awardee. Individuals chosen for this award are defined by Synlett and Synthesis as promising young professors at the beginning of their career. The journals offer this select group of individuals free print and electronic subscriptions to both journals, as a gesture of encouragement.
Daugulis's research focuses on the convergence of organic, organometallic, and polymer chemistry, often having direct technological applications. He received a Degree of Engineer from Riga Technical University, Riga, Latvia in 1991 and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1999. He was a postdoctoral associate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2000-2003.
