Developments in nanotechnology and industrial applications of physics are two of many topics to be discussed at the fall 2005 Joint Meeting of the Texas sections of the American Physical Society, American Association of Physics Teachers, and the Society of Physics Students Oct. 20-22 at the Hilton-University of Houston.
The University of Houston Department of Physics is hosting the event, which will feature three plenary sessions titled “Developments in Nanotechnology,” “Industrial Applications of Physics,” and “Ultra Cold Physics,” in addition to numerous paper presentations, an undergraduate and graduate student presentation award competition, and a barbeque sponsored by Shell Oil.
Registration and a reception will be held at the Waldorf Astoria Lobby from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20. The conference will kick off Friday morning with Plenary Session I: Developments in Nanotechnology, chaired by UH Professor and T.L.L.Temple Chair of Science Paul C.W. Chu.
