Atmospheric Sciences Ph.D. Receives Prestigious Postdoctoral Research Position
Fellowship at NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory

Xin (Lindsay) Lan graduated with a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences in December 2015 under the guidance of her mentor Professor Robert Talbot in the University of Houston’s Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. While at UH, she received six student awards and published eight papers in international journals on her doctoral research.

Lindsay received a National Research Council – National Academy of Sciences (NRC-NAS) postdoctoral fellowship to work with Dr. Pieter Tans at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Tans leads the Carbon Cycle Greenhouse Gases Group in the Global Monitoring Division of NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory in Boulder, Colorado. Lindsay will be working on various aspects of greenhouse gases on the global scale.

Her advisor, Dr. Talbot, also had an NRC-NAS postdoctoral fellowship at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. This is a great opportunity for Lindsay to work on an extraordinarily important problem facing planet Earth. Her fellowship begins in August.
