CAMP REC - 2009 Summer Day Camp in Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Houston, in association with Jay Parks, Associate Director of Programs for Campus Recreation, has developed "Camp Rec,  2009 Summer Day Camp in Computer Science": for their 9 - 12 year old students from June 8 - June 12, 2009 and July 13 - July 17, 2009. The program this year is called "iPhone gaming!" Students will be able to create/learn simple applications and be taught endless possibilities of the iPhone's capabilities. The day camp is a great opportunity for not only young students from campus recreation, but also for PhD Candidate and Research Assistant Yuichi Fujiki, for showing off his teaching skills and expertise. CS@UH hopes to awaken a desire for computer science in the next generations.

We would like to thank Dr. Ioannis Pavlidis, Eckhard-Pfeiffer Professor in the department of Computer Science and Director of the Computational Physiology Lab, for his efforts in supporting the day camp. Dr. Pavlidis, Dr. Buddharaju, and Yuichi created the Walk n' Play which is available in the AppStore For Free) for the iPhone..
