event
The
Department
of
Computer
Science,
in
collaboration
with
the
HPE
Data
Science
Institute,
recognizes
outstanding
young
researchers
who
have
shown
a
dedicated
commitment
to
undergraduate
research
in
the
fields
of
computing
and
data
science.
Nouhad
Rizk,
Ph.D.,
and
Claudia
Neuhauser,
Ph.D.,
are
collaborating
to
engage
students
in
the
research
process
and
facilitate
the
discovery
of
new
knowledge
through
a
showcase
of
data
science:
-
To
provide
peer
support
for
undergraduates
seeking
a
data
analytics
career
-
To
promote
undergraduate
scholars
-
To
hold
colloquia
for
undergraduates
currently
involved
in
data
science
research
and
inquiry
-
To
educate
undergraduates
about
available
research-related
academic
resources
The
Data
Science
Showcase
will
feature
a
keynote
presentation
by
Feng
Yan,
Ph.D.,
and
presentations
by
teams
of
Professor
Nouhad
Rizk’s
undergraduate
Computer
Science
students.
A
jury
will
vote
on
the
student
visualization
presentations,
and
the
top
winners
will
be
announced
at
the
end
of
the
event,
as
well
as
awarded
certificates
and
cash
prizes.
