Abstract
We combine elements of bin packing, graph theory, and virtual network embedding to develop a resource assignment algorithm aimed at provisioning requested network graphs onto a physical infrastructure graph. While work has been done on similar problems, such research tends to focus exclusively on more predictable and regular environment like HPC, cloud infrastructure, and data center systems. We attempt to solve the resource allocation problem under the heterogeneous and relatively more chaotic environment representative of enterprise networked systems.
