Conference: ‘Chicano-Latino
Empowerment Through the Arts!’
The UH Center for Mexican American Studies presents this conference
featuring Latino actors, writers and artists. The event also will
feature “Poetry Slam Encuentro” with Austin poet Raul
Salinas. The keynote address is by Tomas Ybarra-Frausto of the
Rockefeller Foundation, who will discuss the “Regeneration

Burger Fest 2006
“Burger Fest” is a competition that tests the business
savvy of students from the Bauer College of Business’ Center
for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI). In “Apprentice”-like
fashion, teams create a business plan and execute it. Students
are judged based on money raised, presentation, food preparation,
marketing efforts and traffic flow. Small business owners and
