MVP is volunteering at The Houston Food Bank, which is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to hunger relief charities. Food usually comes from various sources in the food industry, like grocery stores and wholesalers, that have thousands of pounds of food to give away – food that could otherwise be thrown away. As volunteers, we will be helping sort through food to be distributed into the community.
Volunteers will meet at the information desk at the Student Center at 12:30 and depart at 12:45 AM and arrive at the event site at 1:00 PM, and volunteer until 4:00 PM. Please indicate on the signup form if you can provide a carpool, we always need volunteer drivers! After the event, volunteers will return to campus and be back by 4:20 PM.
