Brighter Bites is a program in multiple cities across the country, and seeks to bring fresh produce and education about healthy eating to under-served communities.
In the Houston area, Brighter Bites partners with multiple schools to prepare bags of produce for families to pick up and take home that day. Generally, volunteers will sort through donated produce to check for freshness, bag the produce, and add nutrition tips & education materials to these bags.
Volunteers will meet at the front desk in Student Center South at 8:40am and depart at :50am and arrive at the event site at 9am, and volunteer until 11am. Please indicate on this sign up form if you can provide carpool - we always need volunteer drivers!
