THE DASH PROGRAM

The Data Analytics in Students’ Hands (DASH) program provides students early exposure to claims data and its use to inform value-based care.

In summer 2020, 20 student interns conducted research projects focused on the application of data science principles and techniques to improve understanding of social determinants of health within Houston communities.

The DASH program provides opportunities for experiential, real-world learning and increases student interest in exploratory data analyses and the development of analytical constructs to address business challenges. This hands-on experience prepares students to effectively engage in the health care workforce and other industries.
