Born in Havana, Cuba, was a dancer with the New York City Ballet and Principal dancer with the Pennsylvania Ballet. She has worked with, and performed ballets from, some of the dance world’s most renowned choreographers, such as Jerome Robbins, George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Peter Martins, William Forsythe, Garth Fagan, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Eliot Feld, Mauro Bigonzetti, Hans Van Maanen, Matthew Neenan, Roland Petit and more. Mrs. Lorenzo-Lasa is a recipient of the prestigious Princess Grace Award and was one of Pointe Magazine’s Standouts: 12 Favorite Performances in 2009. She has over 20 years of teaching and coaching experience at various levels, and has led classes for the Houston Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet II and various schools and festivals across the country. Mrs. Lorenzo-Lasa has been an adjunct professor at the University of Houston’s dance department since 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree, in Health Sciences, and is a mother of two children.
