LECTURE: "Famous Historical Chord Progressions" with Frank Koonce
Admission to this lecture is FREE
Lecture description: Like the modern-day "twelve-bar blues" progression, there have been many other popular harmonic/bass patterns that have served as the basis for countless songs and dances. These include the Romanesca, Passamezzo Antico, Jácaras, Marionas, and Folia d' España, to name a few. We will examine and play some of these famous progressions, many of which are still recognized today in pieces such as the "Pachelbel Canon" and "Greensleeves." It is recommended that audience members bring their guitars to the lecture.
