Institutes for Voice & Jazz

TMF also offers instructional institutes for musicians ranging in age from middle school to adult in a variety of specialty areas (voice & jazz). Each institute is highly selective and students are chosen by auditions and/or teacher recommendations. Institute instructors include world-class performers and teachers that come from Houston, other major cities in Texas, and from throughout the world. Institute participants are involved in large ensemble rehearsals, sectionals, lessons, coachings, and musicianship classes. Additionally, some of these institutes culminate in a final performance and many offer multiple performing opportunities. The following institutes are also being offered for the 2020 festival:

• The Institute of Voice Studies - Building Your Craft: From Studio to Stage: May 20 - June 5, 2020
• Jazz Institute: June 21 - 26, 2020
• The Informed Flutist: on hiatus for June 2020
