It was an episode of Tom and Jerry that made Victor want to play the bass, but it wasn’t until the sixth grade that he had the opportunity to begin playing. Though he’s spent seven years playing the bass in school, only his last two have been formal training. For his senior year of high school, Victor attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in his home state where he began learning from his first double bass teacher, Paul Sharpe, and is now headed into his second year in UNCSA’s undergraduate music program.
